Flight of Icarus

*The Flight of Icarus*
From deep within my loins love stirs.
A lynx leaps.
As the owl watches, bringing ancient myths
of love and lust to a reality
in the night
tending sacramental fires

Subconscious, simple and clear.
Is my mind here?
Bacchanalian rites, ancient ritual.
In a place that Morpheus commands
From the scents of balsam and hickory springs Helen,
divine as alabaster
on a darkened night
I live to see this through.

I faced you
Or my heart did
My body moist
I tremble

Waiting
A pair
One of love as the other ancient cravings
In an imaginary play
Where knights succumb to pleasure
And heroes rise in adoration
To meet the muse

My soul flutters
When you come near
More than just my heart
Is moved
Approach me
Touch me
In the dark.
